Community Guidelines
July 21, 2021
Ocugen’s social media presence is a place for community members to learn about Ocugen. Our goal is to provide useful, insightful and interesting public content about our company and the industry in which we are involved. We also share general information about public health, blindness and the life sciences industry.
First and foremost, we ask that everyone show respect for other members that visit and use this platform. We want your comments, posts and feedback, provided you share your viewpoint in a way that’s respectful to us and our community.
Also, we have to operate this platform within the regulatory environment in which we operate. That means we may remove various forms content that:
- Is inappropriate, misleading, fraudulent or deceptive, or potentially libelous
- Uses language that is abusive, discriminatory, harassing, or vulgar
- Promotes any violent or illegal activity
- Contains any medical advice or product usage information (including off-label)
- Tries to sell, promote or advertise someone else’s products, programs or services
- Violates any intellectual property, publicity or privacy rights of any person or entity
- Shares private or personal information, including one’s health status, or
- Violates the platform’s terms of service.
And while it’s the last thing we want to do, we reserve the right to block or ban anyone who repeatedly violate these Guidelines. Having a safe environment online is our priority.
As a public company in a regulated industry, we have unique legal guidelines, too. We are only able to share information about Ocugen or otherwise that which is publicly available. So certain topics aren’t appropriate for social media channels, and some of your discussions may need to be redirected or curtailed for the same reason.
We cannot engage in discussions involving:
- Sensitive topics
- Confidential details with respect to our product candidates or non-aggregate clinical
- Trial data
- Financial or legal matters
- Detailed or product-specific regulatory matters
- Investment advice, or
- Medical advice. (That should come from your healthcare provider or physician.)
Any social media accounts that we follow or that follow us aren’t an indication of our endorsement of these accounts or the content they produce. In addition, we may share links to certain websites or other content that are not created or controlled by us. We cannot attest to the accuracy of the linked information. We are also not endorsing the information presented in the linked content. Similarly, “likes” (or similar reactions) of our content or by our social media accounts should not be considered endorsements.
Know that when you post on our social media channels, your posts, and any ideas or techniques contained in them, may be freely used by us in any way and in any media, including on this forum, on our websites and in our business. Please don’t submit any ideas or materials that you wish to keep confidential or for which you expect to receive compensation. In addition, when you post in our social media channels, your name, likeness and social media handle will be visible and associated with your post and if we re-use your post elsewhere, we may display your name, likeness and handle there as well.
We will do our best to moderate and respond promptly to your comments and feedback. Generally, we check our social media channels several times a day during regular business hours in Pennsylvania, USA. Please remember that this forum contains the opinions and views of other users that do not necessarily reflect the opinions or views of Ocugen. Although we are moderating our channels to help ensure that users’ posts comply with these Guidelines, we cannot be responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any comments or materials posted by users.
Our posts may contain forward-looking statements, which are generally statements that are not historical facts. Forward-looking statements can be identified by the words “expects,” “anticipates,” “believes,” “intends,” “estimates,” “plans,” “will,” “outlook” and similar expressions. Forward-looking statements are based on management’s current plans, estimates, assumptions and projections, and speak only as of the date they are made. We undertake no obligation to update any forward-looking statement because of new information, future events, or otherwise, after the date of any post or tweet except as otherwise required by law. Forward-looking statements involve inherent risks and uncertainties, most of which are difficult to predict and are generally beyond our control. Actual results or outcomes may differ materially from those implied by the forward-looking statements due to the impact of numerous risk factors, many of which are discussed in more detail in our Annual Report on Form 10-K and our other reports filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Any forward-looking statements that are made through our social media accounts are applicable only as of the date of the post.
We may update these Guidelines from time to time and any updates to the Guidelines will be effective immediately after we post them. So, check this page regularly for updates to the Guidelines so you can stay current.
Thank you for reading and abiding by these Guidelines, and for following us on social media.
